Domestic Abuse Forums
What are domestic abuse forums?
Domestic abuse forums are independent inter-agency partnerships that bring together voluntary and statutory organisations – such as charities, the police, safeguarding leads (from schools, or the council) and local authorities – with the aim of strengthening partnership working, information sharing and coordinated service provision.
All forums support the Kent and Medway Domestic Abuse Strategy 2020 – 2023 and are working to meet its aims, but the way that they do this might differ. While some are working to action plans, others may be focusing on relent themes for their area.
The Chairs of the Forums meet every quarter to make sure that learnings, best practice but also potential blockages and issues are shared and managed.
What areas do domestic abuse forums cover?
There are eight domestic abuse forums across Kent and Medway.
Forums are run in:
• Canterbury and Ashford
• North Kent
• Folkestone and Hythe
• East Kent
• West Kent
Forums have a collective aim to reduce the prevalence of domestic abuse, and ensure that where domestic abuse takes place, all those affected get the right support, quickly.
