DeafHope service provides practical and emotional support to deaf people who are experiencing domestic abuse and to those who have survived it. The team support you to make choices and to stay safe. DeafHope is the UKs only sign-language based service to help deaf people who suffer from domestic abuse. Deaf women are more at risk of domestic abuse than hearing women. Male abuse victims are encouraged to speak out about their situation and seek help and advice - we are here to support you too. When sign language is the main way you communicate it can be very hard to get help. If you are being abused, the DeafHope team are here to help you. We will help to find you and your children a safe place to stay, and then give you the help you need to rebuild your life and regain your confidence. DeafHope allocates qualified Deaf IDVAs, Outreach workers and Children and Families Workers, as well as working with partner organisations, to support Deaf people. Abuse is never right and never your own fault. You do not need to put up with it. To ask for help contact us on the text number or email on this page. Or if you have a deaf client who is experiencing or has experienced domestic abuse please do not hesitate to make contact. DeafHope is now on Twitter & Facebook.
